AmourFactory is a very versatile site—a lot will depend on how you are using it. It’s designed for cross-cultural communication and dating, and though it may work as one of the top mail order bride sites, it wasn’t designed this way.

Basically, you can sign up for free, see all members, follow someone, and chat if you like the person. If you’re seeking direct communication with others, you’ll need to get some credits, and all the costs (honest ones, we must admit) can be found on the Credits page.

Let’s move to the most important part of our AmourFactory review—the analysis of features. We decided to focus on what makes the platform stand out. Take a look and decide whether it’s the only site you should use or whether choosing an alternative would be a better option.

Followers & feed

Once you join the AmourFactory dating site, you get instant access to all profiles and, most importantly, to the Feed. On this page, you can see all the recent posts from members, find someone attractive, and follow this person or contact them right away. There’s the Follow button on every profile, too, so if you discover a match in any other way, for example, by using the search feature, you’ll be able to see all their new posts, too.

The People feature

There’s the Search page and basic search filters, but the People swiping feature is actually the better alternative. Some may argue that there’s nothing special about swiping. After all, it’s one of the most common features available on all top dating platforms, including Tinder. However, on AmourFactory, it’s way more convenient to use. On top of that, when you see a profile, you can not only skip it or like it but also send a wink right away or even start a conversation before you match with a user.

Live chat & Mails

Generally speaking, members can choose between two main communication features—live chat and Mails. Online messenger works great, is not buggy, and lets you send not only text messages but also media files, as well as custom stickers and emojis. The same goes for Mails, which are basically long emails of up to 3,000 characters each.

Virtual gifts & real gifts 

There’s a wide selection of virtual gifts that work great for those who want to get the attention of someone really attractive. All the validated members, or at least most of them, are rather popular, so that’s quite a helpful feature. Of course, virtual gifts are much cheaper than real gift delivery services.

Pricing & value for money

How much will use AmourFactory cost you? On this site, you don’t buy premium plans—you’re offered to buy credits instead and spend them on any services you want to use at the moment. How much do credits cost? Currently, the available packages are as follows:

• 20 credits — $2.99 only for new users
• 20 credits — $9.99 for regular users 
• 50 credits — $19.99 
• 125 credits — $44.99
• 250 credits — $69.99
• 750 credits — $149.99

Note: You won’t have to spend credits on taking any action on Amour Factory. In particular, the following features are completely free to use:

And here’s how much the most widely used special features will cost: 

• Chat — 2 credits per minute

So, on the one hand, members can control their spending and pay only for the features that seem useful to them. On the other hand, you need to calculate and estimate the costs of various services. It’s not a free or even a cheap site, which is why it’s so important to learn as much as possible about the system before you start spending real money here.

Profile quality — AmourFactory user base review

Is AmourFactory legit? To answer this question, we need to analyze the profile quality. Features are important, but using a site with fake and low-effort profiles hardly makes any sense. 

The good news is that nearly all members on the site make an effort to create detailed profiles. That may be explained by the high competition and the high motivation to find partners.

Here’s what you can see on one’s personal page:

1. A bio—usually quite interesting, but it largely depends on the user. 
2. Basic information—date of birth, location, relationship status, occupation, interests, personality traits, etc. 
3. Public photos and secret albums—in most cases, there are 5-7 public photos that you can see without spending credits on starting a conversation with a user (that’s necessary to unlock secret albums). 
4. Profile video—not all members have it, though.
5. Posts from a user—if the member is active on the site, you’ll see all their previous publications right on their profile page.

Basically, that’s what it looks like.

Not all profiles are as detailed, though. Here’s what a lower-quality account looks like.

There are fewer public photos, and there are no posts from the user. Still, it’s hard to say that you can’t learn anything about the members. Also, as you can see most members have blue verification badges, which means that they have shared additional information and their profiles are definitely legit. We’d definitely recommend focusing only on validated members’ profiles.

How to use AmourFactory?

Now, it’s time to analyze all the main processes in more detail. We’re going to focus on all the main stages, from the registration stage to requesting contact details of other users and personal meetings offline.

Registration process

If you’re going to join the Amour Factory dating community, you’ll need to take a few simple actions:

1. Browse the official website and fill in the registration form. Only basic information must be shared. You’ll need to provide your name (it doesn’t have to be real), a valid email address, which will also be your AmourFactory login, gender, and date of birth. At this stage, you also need to agree to the terms set by the company.
2. Take a quiz. First, you’ll need to answer some questions about yourself. There’ll be standard questions about your weight, height, occupation, and hobbies, as well as some interesting questions about guilty pleasures and previous online dating experiences. Then, you’ll need to answer some questions about people you’d like to meet on Amour Factory.
3. Adding a photo and writing a bio. It’s optional yet highly recommended. Once you upload a profile photo, you’ll see some matches chosen for you. You can like someone right away or just access the site.

Note: All the questions from the quiz can be skipped. You can also add a photo later. But we’d recommend providing more detailed information about yourself at this early stage of using the site just because the Amour Factory algorithms will use it to suggest matches to you.

Searching for potential matches

There are multiple ways to discover matches on Amour Factory:

• By using standard search filters. There are only three of them. Basically, you can only sort profiles by user location, age, and gender.
• By viewing posts on the Feed. You can look through posts and visit profiles of members whose publications you liked most.
• By using the swiping feature. If you go to the People page, you’ll see profiles of your best potential matches. As we’ve noted previously, you can like them, skip a profile, or contact the member right away.

Though the Amour Factory algorithms work rather well, the site is missing an extended search feature. If having an opportunity to sort profiles by multiple search criteria is one of your top priorities, you may consider using other platforms. Communication with matches 

That’s how you can interact with other members of Amour Factory:

• By sending the first standard message. There’s the Say Hello feature that lets you choose one of the first message templates. 
• By sending a virtual gift. As we’ve noted previously, members can send virtual gifts, and the selection is rather impressive. 
• By starting a chat or sending a Mail. Both features work well enough, so you can just choose the option that works best for you personally. 
• By sending media files. Members can exchange photos, videos, audios, and custom stickers.

Note: Custom messages work much better than the Say Hello feature. Many users ignore messages that sound as if they were generated by the automated robotic AI system, and that’s understandable. Considering that you will still need to spend credits to contact someone, writing something creative and meaningful or asking something based on information from a member’s profile makes much more sense.

Customer support

Currently, the only way to contact AmourFactory customer support is to fill out the request form on the site and wait for the response. Fortunately, the customer support team works fast enough—you’re likely to receive an email from them in 2-6 hours after submitting the request.
