Let’s talk about these tours, about how much they cost, and about some myths that surround this industry.

What is mail order bride tour?

So, there are dating sites—the platforms where you pay for communication but everything else is on you. Tickets, hotel accommodations, translation services, city tours, transfers, visas—it’s you who plan everything, pay for everything, and protect yourself from potential dangers. It’s extremely time-consuming and stressful, especially if you are not a travel expert who spent years traveling around the world.

And then there are agencies that provide mail order bride tours (romance tours, marriage tours, it’s the same thing). When you become the client of an agency that provides such tours, you only pay once, for the whole package of services:

• Selecting the girls based on your requirements;
• Benefiting from translation services;
• Care for everything possible during your trip to a foreign country provided by the team of professionals. 

Such a dating tour is basically a trip to another country where you’ll meet several girls (it’s guaranteed) and where you won’t need to worry about buying tickets, wayfinding, interacting with locals who do not speak English, and so on.

First romance tours in modern history took place in post-Soviet countries in the 1990s. Most agencies in the 1990s didn’t even have websites so men watched the interviews of the ladies on DVD players, but the concept was pretty much the same: men watched interviews, chose the girls they liked most, paid for certain service packages, traveled to Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and other countries, and met local girls there. Today, it’s much more convenient and fast, but the concept, as I just said, remains the same.

How do Romance Tours work?

So, there are two sides: a foreign bride and a Western man.

Here’s how it looks for a foreign bride:

• She goes to the office of the agency and applies as a candidate
• Then, the agency provides background check
• After that, they create her profile on a website—with all the information a man could want, from her name and religion to her English skills level, her description of a perfect date, etc.
• A woman records a video interview where she talks about herself and about her dream relationship in English 
• When she’s chosen by a foreign man, she may accept or reject the invitation for a date. If she accepts, the agency begins planning a romance tour
• Typically, they can also exchange messages and additional photos/videos to better know each other
• She meets a man and if there’s mutual sympathy and “chemistry”, they start building a relationship

For men, the process is slightly different.

• First, a man creates a profile on the agency website (they have offline offices, too, but from my experience, most men prefer doing it online)
• Then, he watches all those interviews, browses the profiles, and chooses the girl (or girls) he likes most
• After that, a man asks the lady on a date
• If she accepts, he pays for a certain service pack that includes translation, transfer, city guide, hotel accommodation, and other services
• He visits a foreign country and has several dates (typically, these tours are 7-14 days long)
• If he meets a perfect match, they start dating, build a relationship, and eventually, he proposes and brings his bride to the United States.

The agencies that provide romance tours are perfect for those who value their time and don’t want to waste it. You choose the girl you like, then you meet her, it’s as simple as that: you don’t need to read all those guides, purchase the tickets, choose the best hotel, or plan a date in a foreign city. You just pay the professionals and they do all those things for you.

Most popular marriage tours destination

You can probably find dating tours to almost any country in the world. However, this doesn’t mean that you actually need to visit any country in the world. In fact, there are 10-15 best countries to find a wife, and the chances of finding a soulmate are the highest there, so it makes sense to focus on those countries first. 

Asia

Common myths about mail order bride tours

There are two main myths related to these tours, and both of them were born out of false expectations.

• The first one sounds like this: you can “buy” a bride on such a tour.
• The second one is: you are guaranteed to find a wife or at least have sex with the ladies you’ll meet there.

Both myths are far from the truth. First of all, you can’t just “buy” a wife—obviously, it’s not how it works. If you could, this would be human trafficking, and we all know that human trafficking is illegal and immoral. You do not “buy” them, you need to actually impress and attract them during your online communication and during those offline dates, that’s the only way it works.

And the second myth is about guarantees. These tours are not so cheap and men want to feel like they’re guaranteed to find a bride (or at least a girlfriend) when they pay several thousands of dollars. Well, unfortunately, it’s just not how it works. These women are not obliged to continue communication or to say “yes”, they are not slaves or prostitutes, they are real women who are searching for a real foreign husband. They might like you or they might not like you, you can’t change that or improve your chances with money. 

How much does a romance tour cost?

So, how much will you pay for a tour?

As you already know, the most popular options are 7 days/6 nights and 14 days/13 nights. Let’s see how much the first option costs in different countries: if it’s your first tour, you’ll probably want to choose a more affordable option. 

What does it include? Typically, it’s the following:

• Hotel accommodation
• Guided city tour
• Hotel area walking tour
• Personal translation services
• Any extra logistics or advice
• Transport from airport/hotel. 

Of course, it’s also the dates—usually, the agencies provide 2 Socials per 1 city. The Socials include unlimited introductions and contacts, personal translation, champagne, etc. Usually, the interpreters are available from 9 AM to 9 PM so you will be able to date as many women from the base as you want during this period. 

P.S. You should also be ready for some small additional “fees”. Like, often, these girls do not live in the city you’ll meet them—say, if you meet a girl in Kyiv, Ukraine, she might be from one of the suburbs like Irpin or Hostomel, and if she’s not too shy, she may say that she needs money for a taxi back home. Of course, you’ll give her that $20 or $30 because you’re a gentleman—it’s not about gold-digging, it’s just basic spending you need to be aware of.
